VDI conference: Energy transformation in buildings and neighborhoods

On May 13 and 14, 2025, we will be at the VDI conference in Cologne. The focus: energy efficiency and sustainable energy supply.

The two-day conference will be chaired by our CEO Klaus Nagl together with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volker Stockinger, Professor of Energy Efficient Construction and Building Technology. Participants will have the opportunity to attend presentations and panel discussions on innovative technologies and best practices. During the discussions, they can ask the experts their questions.

Renewable heat and sustainably generated electricity for buildings and neighborhoods

Germany wants to become climate-neutral by 2045. To achieve this, greenhouse gas emissions in the building sector urgently need to be reduced. The Building Energy Act is a central building block for the energy and heating transition. Neighborhoods play a central role, as numerous synergy effects take effect due to the larger reference system compared to individual buildings. This applies to the heat supply of newly built or planned districts, but above all to existing buildings. Due to the increasing electrification of buildings through heat pumps, electromobility and digitalization, the decentralized generation of renewable electricity is also becoming increasingly important for building and district planning.

The VDI conference "Energy Transformation in Buildings and Neighborhoods" deals with the specific issues and possible solutions that are relevant for the players involved - such as planning offices, property operators, project developers and energy suppliers. These include current legislation, funding opportunities, business models and technological developments.
