PV power from the roof is available. But the inverter can't communicate with the wallbox? The solution: our Leaflet HEMS mediates between the devices and offers various charging options.
It sounds so easy to be electrically mobile: the electric car in the garage, the wallbox on the wall, plug in the charging cable and... Use the PV electricity from the roof? Those who purchased their wallbox through KfW subsidies in recent years often face a problem. The system works, yes. But the KfW subsidy was used to install wallboxes that do not communicate with the inverter and therefore cannot use electricity from their own PV system. More specifically, the inverter cannot switch the wallbox as desired when there is excess solar power available.

But: Here comes the Leaflet HEMS comes into play! Our energy manager can switch the wallbox via the inverter โ and thus solves the problem of subsidized wallboxes. This enables PV surplus charging and PV-optimized charging.ย
How does it work? As soon as the excess power from the PV system exceeds the minimum power required by the wallbox, it starts charging the electric car. PV surplus charging means that the wallbox only charges when there is enough PV power available. You can also set what happens when there is no PV power available: The power is simply drawn from the grid or the wallbox charges more slowly. With PV-optimized charging, the user enters a time by which the electric car should be fully charged. Leaflet HEMS creates a schedule for this goal, compares the current weather data, and calculates in advance how much PV power can be expected. It tries to draw as little power as possible from the grid during this time.ย
