HEMS Vision 2026: Where is the journey headed?ย

Ourย Leaflet HEMS continues to evolveโ€”and with a clear vision. Here's a preview of the trends and features you can expect.

This is a preview of future developments. In the HEMS News you can find everything about our releases!

Focus on flexibility and intelligence

HEMSย HEMS will become even more of a central hubย asย energy managementย for the home.
The provenย FflexAย Core logic, previously fromย in theย industry, is finding its way into single-family homes. This allowsย theย HEMSย creates schedulesย for 24 to 48 hours based on weather forecasts, electricity prices, and consumption data. The goal: system-wide optimization that intelligently coordinates the PV system, storage, wallbox, and heat pump.

Market integration and dynamic tariffs

Wfurther milestones wwillย the integration of dynamic electricity tariffs,ย direct marketingย of smaller PV systemsย and time-variable grid feesย be.ย Theย Leafletย HEMSย will be available as aย hubfor suppliers and aggregators, enabling additional flexibility and revenue. Initial pilot projects are already underway, demonstrating how households can actively participate in the energy market.ย

Network utility and regulation

The requirements of Section 14a EnWG andย Section 9ย EEG are shaping developments.ย HEMSย will support the comprehensive implementation of these requirements in the future, including zero feed-in and closer coupling with smart meter gateways. This will make the system a reliable partner not only for end customers but also for grid operators.ย

Security and compliance

With regard to NIS2,ย theย cyberย Resilienceย Act and BSI requirementsย willย Securityย isย megatrend. Consolinno is already certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 and consistently aligns its processes and software architectureย to meet increasingย requirements. Security is not an add-on, but an integral part of the company.ย

New features and AI

The hype surroundingย the buzzwordย AI is giving way to a pragmatic approachthat we have always pursued: we focus on functions that offer real added value. In the home of the future, these include bidirectional charging (V2H/V2G), energy sharing, and intelligent optimization that uses historical data. The goal is a system that works in the background โ€“ and only informs the user when it is really relevant.ย

Roadmap: 2025 and 2026

2025 was marked by robust expansion:ย

  • Rule-based control with AI functionsย
  • Integration of dynamic tariffs and PV optimizationย
  • Basic implementation of Section 14a EnWG, Section 9 EEG, and zero feed-in (Solar Peak Act)ย

ย

The next stage will follow in 2026:ย

  • Fully automated optimization with AIย
  • FlexA integration into a single-family homeย
  • Bidirectional charging and direct EV connectionย

ย

In the long term, HEMS will become a fully automated energy manager that requires virtually no manual intervention. The customer sets targets such as cost or COโ‚‚ optimizationโ€”the system does the rest independently.ย
