Step-by-step guide to successful installation

The installation of the Leaflet HEMS begins directly at the distribution cabinet. The device is wired with 230V AC on the underside and, thanks to its compact design, requires only four mounting units. A stable connection is established via the LAN interface. After power is supplied, the HEMS automatically detects all devices that communicate via Modbus TCP. Three LEDs indicate the current status: power supply, network connection, and operational readiness. 

An electricity meter at the grid connection point is essential for energy management. In many cases, an existing smart meter or a hybrid inverter with an integrated meter is sufficient—an additional meter is then not necessary. 

The daisy chain method is recommended for clean and space-saving cabling. This involves connecting several devices via a single cable. It is important to set up all end devices according to the manufacturer's instructions and to follow the connection recommendations.

Once the mobile device is on the same network as the HEMS, you can start the installation wizard. First, create a user account, then proceed to device integration. 

The installation wizard guides you through all the steps: Modbus RTU can be activated optionally via RJ45 or a 14-pin connector. Inverters can be selected directly, and wall boxes are automatically detected in the network. Heat pumps and SG-Ready interfaces can also be integrated and controlled in accordance with §14a for grid service. Heating elements can also be integrated as an option. The SLS values of the grid connection point are stored for overload protection. 

Once successfully set up, the dashboard provides a clear overview of all connected devices and energy flows. For service purposes, the serial number of the HEMS should be clearly visible in the control cabinet—ideally using the stickers provided. In addition, the installer's contact details can be stored so that the customer can receive direct support if they have any questions.
